If you are looking for distilleries close to Makers, check out Heaven Hill & Willett in Bardstown. Lots of good places to eat in Bardstown. I second renting a house near Manuel Antonio. Took my kids (14 & 11 at the time). National park there is amazing with sloths & monkeys. Beach is great. Lots of good places to eat. We did a day doing a waterfall tour (jumping off waterfalls) that my girls still talk about. ...
