Yeah that is the reason. It has nothing to do with Alabama being the top program in college football. It's totally because they are scared of 9-4 LSU....

Bama opponents have had 38 possessions when trailing by 20pts or less. Those 38 drives produced 3TDs and 3FGs for an average of 0.79pts/drive.
Not an expert but I don't think that's good....
