48 inch built-in refrigerator
Posted by lsumed on 11/17/23 at 3:38 pm
Looking for creative solutions.
We have a 48-inch built in GE profile refrigerator with nice cabinets built around it. Have tried everything to repair it, but it needs a new control board which is no longer made by GE. At this point I am looking at just getting new fridge, but any built-in this...
preventing freezing pipes
Posted by lsumed on 12/19/22 at 7:21 am
We will be out of town for the incoming freeze, and I plan on turning off main water supply to home and draining the system.
Have a tankless water heater in the attic. Should I turn off the tankless heater while the water is drained? Anything else to consider? Thanks in advance....
re: leak at base of toilet

toilet is quite old probably greater than 30 years. It moves a little bit when weight is shifted on/off, so could be wax ring or a small crack I suppose.
Odd that it does not feel wet on the ground or in the crawl space underneath. and there is no subfloor just floorboards house is from 1860s....

As I understand it,
-there are no upfront tax breaks (although this may be changing in 2022?).
-any gains are exempt from federal (and state?) tax if used for approved pr...
re: LA tuition donation tax credit

I believe the wording is "after August 27". That would mean anything donated on Monday Aug 27 will still qualify for deduction. I plan to wire the second half of my Aces donation first thing Monday morning....

Very helpful. They are asking for half of donation by mid August, so this decision would need to be made soon. Are you recommending it for your clients? I doubt there will be any clarity from the IRS in the next few weeks..
Worst case scenario is you don't get the fed deduction on 95%, and you ha...

No limit that I know of.
I do recall reading news releases in May that the IRS would be following "form over substance" policy when it comes to determining whether these state tax credit programs would truly qualify for federal deductions. Don't think they have issued actual guidelines yet.....

Curious if anyone else is planning on contributing to this program for 2018?
