Wasn’t he competing against another “D”

He could 100% still play Bond.
Ideas Elba is great and I would 100% support him as Bond.

Maximum age limits for US senators

Posted by mule74 on 6/8/26 at 10:46 am
The average and median age of U.S. senators is 64 years old.

The average age for both Democratic and Republican senators is roughly 63 to 64 years old.

Chuck Grassley is the oldest at 91 fricking years. Diane Feinstein was incapacitated and died in office. Mitch McConnell is a walking corpse.

You have to be 30 years old to run for the Senate. We established a minimum because we don’t trust the maturity level of people below that age. Why would we not likewise have a maximum age?

Father time is undefeated. We will all suffer from physical and cognitive decline that will keep us from performing at our best as we age.

I would support a cap at 65 years. You would not be eligible to run for office if you were over 65 years of age. That means the maximum age in the Senate would be 71 years, which I think is more than fair.

I would make 70 years the cap for the House of Representatives. That would make the max age in the house 72 years.

I would make 65 the cap for a new presidential candidate. If you were already in office, you could run for reelection over 65. That would make the max age of the president 73 years.

This ruling is so ridiculous. If you are not allowed to enforce the integrity of your game then what can you do?

They’re not even maximally effective. Do you want to get rid of those people? Start punitively findings any employer that hires undocumented workers. Slap, massive fees and taxes on foreign remittances. You would kill the supply and the demand. The people that were here would leave, and the ones who wanted to come would not.

He's literally planned to rip them off. He would have to have lied about his financial wherewithal to get these credits. Do,votes, he's an intentional thief and we should all shun and denounce people like this. The fact that he returns to that shithole India and can never return is fine with me.

Sure. He’s a POS. As a lender I might think “is this person I’m giving money to a POS? Is there a chance that they will rip me off and run away to a country where I can’t pursue them?”

For instance, I might be more inclined to lend money to a naturalized citizen, that doesn’t hold a passport from any other country, that’s lived in the same house for 20 years. Good chance that guy is not going to run away.
Should we be mad at the borrower? It’s not his fault that these lenders are dumb enough to allow him to run up six figures of unsecured debt knowing that there is a good chance that he could skip back to his country of origin.

I view this story as a good thing. If lenders learn that they cannot safely provide loans to H1B holders, they will stop doing so. That will dissuade more H1B applicants from coming here, because they won’t be able to acquire easy money. These are the kind of macro things that are much more effective than theatrical ICE raids.

We knew how good our pitching was in 2023 and 2025, but we didn’t really know how our pitching was in 2023 and 2025.
I don’t put my hand over my heart during the national anthem. I never have, and I love America.

I feel like the obsession with putting your hand over your heart is a new phenomenon. During the pledge? Sure. That’s a pledge. You’re not pledging to anything during the anthem. It’s a song.

My father was a veteran and he always stood at attention when the anthem was played. I’ve always stood with my arms behind my back.
We are pouring hundreds of millions of dollars into football. We appear to be prepared to pour tens of millions of dollars into men’s basketball now.

No offense to the softball lovers on here, but who cares? We made it to a super regional. By definition, we were one of the top 16 teams in the nation.

If I were the A.D., I would have three goals for the Olympic sport coaches. Make the NCAA tournament. Graduate your players. Don’t have any embarrassments for the overall program.

If they did those three things, they would have a very long rope with me.

The only sports that are not subject to those guidelines are football, men’s basketball, baseball, maybe women’s basketball, and maybe track and field (purely because of tradition).

Fixing Louisiana
To be clear, I also think that Michael Flynn is a loon. I think that all of these people are loony, and the fact that they are or have been so closely associated with people who run our government makes me extremely uncomfortable.

I read this as the ramblings of an insane person. I just want to confirm, are you telling me that you feel justified in your feelings because of these posts?
I mean this as a non-political take…

You are seeing an immediate pullback in prices because of immediate price drops due to the peace talks. That said, we will have an ongoing structural issue probably through the end of the year. I would not expect to see oil near $60 a barrel in the next year.
I hope no one was hurt, but that’s pretty cool to watch.
I’m too stupid to understand this so I’ll just keep living in linear time.
I worked with a lot of hot Latinas in Houston, but more ugly ones. Even the pretty ones, you could see where they might not age well in 20 years.
I thought it was beneath the dignity of the White House for Barack Obama to appear on the Tonight Show in 2009.

UFC on the White House lawn is disgusting on the scale of Roman bread and circuses. Down vote away, but if you are excited about this, you are probably a giant trash ball.

ETA: I’ll even disclose my hypocrisy. I’ll probably watch it on Paramount so I can see the Pereira fight. I like UFC. It doesn’t belong on the White House lawn. No sport does.
