I AM LEGEND ......quickly came to mind

My son sat down to watch that movie with us and as soon as he saw the Shepherd he got up to leave. "Nope, they're gonna' kill that dog."

I don't know. Getting murder-sprayed by a flamethrower being wielded by a cabana-wear clad Leo DeCaprio was a high-point in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.

Warren Beatty’s last on-screen appearance as Dick Tracy was on February 10, 2023, in the Turner Classic Movies (TCM) television special Dick Tracy: Tracy Zooms In.
Look for Dick Tracy next week in "Tracy Gets a Colonoscopy!"
Mikey Madison either has a good head on her shoulders or a great agent. After she won The Oscar every sci-fi and fantasy franchise was trying to get her, she passed and waited for roles like this. She could've ended up as another cookie-cutter heroine in a washed up movie/TV saga.

Great idea by Sorkin to have the reporter being in way over his level of Tech savvy, so that he can explain everything to the audience with his usual exposition dumps.

That surprises me because I remember it as something of a flop.

It was a response to Batman, and the expectations were at that level (which was ridiculous).

The merchandising was on the level of Batman. The malls were yellow with Dick Tracy apparel and accessories and toys. But the sales didn't follow suit, and you ended up with Dick Tracy toys in the bargain bin for years after.

Beatty still owns the film and future film rights, which only laps if he stops making Dick Tracy films or TV programs. He's extended his ownership by occasionally appearing as Dick Tracy in interviews on TCM and ticking off the requirement in that minimal fashion.

Didn't take long for some dipshit to try and turn Mr. Rogers political, did it?
Some people find something good and pure and see it as an opportunity to seek out the tiniest crack that can be chiseled into validating themselves.
Talked my parents into sending me to Washington D.C. my Senior year with a school group. They said "fine, but that's your senior trip". So that Spring I worked a couple of months at a burger joint to make enough money to jump in a van with my friends and head to Panama City with the rest of my class. Came back penniless and sunburned only to find that relatives had dropped off envelopes of cash for my graduation, so I had funds for Prom after all.

I've never watched a car race of any kind, but when the plot depended on a driver rigging the system and finding loopholes, I figured this fun film relied on some fantasy.

I do enjoy racing history and documentaries, so I know guys like Smokey Yunick (who "cheated" within the rules) did exist, so it's not total fantasy to have a character like Pitt's.

like the bitch who played Snow WHITE?

or the black Anne Boleyn?

If you'd read my posts in here you'd know that I was referring to roles like Morgan Freeman as Red or Denzel as Macbeth. Not about marginal actors shoehorned into traditional white roles.

But hey, if spitting and sputtering about Black Snow White makes you feel better, then go for it.

Yeah, I don't get why he has all that shite on his face. The character he's playing looked like this in the comics:
At least we're avoiding the usual, "Of course, the only normal looking white guy is the villain" complaints.

i wish theyd stop editing trailers in the Zack Snyder model
It's the one thing that Snyder does consistently well.

At some point soon they will need to do this if they keep rebooting them, which we all know they will. You’d be pushing 90 to have any memory of the Holocaust at this point. It’s either more period pieces or an updated backstory.
The Holocaust angle was an add-on from the 80's. It wasn't a part of Magneto's original history. Now, it's an amazing addition if you're cementing someone as an anti-hero, but even then it was dating the character.

BS. It's the role. Jeffrey Wright is great in a supporting role as Commissioner Gordon, but would you be OK with any black actor playing Batman?

We just had a lengthy duplicate of this thread ( race/gender swap casting that worked ). The consensus seemed to be that when it's a great actor (Denzel, Freeman), people are fine overlooking the race swap. If they're just dropping in a random black actress to play Black Canary, it comes across as pointless and lazy. There was pie-in-the-sky talk of Denzel and Giancarlo Esposito playing Xavier and Magneto. Would that have changed one of the character's current history? Yeah. Would I have watched it? frick yeah.
We’ve been in a franchise era since the first silent sequel.

I hope you're not referring to Judd Hirsch's Jewish uncle character.
We already had a thread on this.

Morgan Freeman and Denzel Washington. Pick a role.

It's not the race, it's the actor.
