Brian Downing, the Alabama fan who “teabagged” a passed out LSU fan at a Krystal Burger in New Orleans following the 2012 BCS National Championship game, agreed to a plea bargain today of a two-year prison sentence. Per

"He would have faced as much as a 10-year sentence and been forced to register as a sex offender if he were convicted on the sexual battery count.

He had earlier rejected a similar deal, but had a change a heart on the morning of trial.

Downing gave one-word responses as he answered questions from the judge about whether he understood the deal. His parents sat quietly in the gallery.

“I believe while we felt we had a strong case at trial, which we did, the fact is, if he lost he’d have to register as a sex offender,” Kennedy said after Downing’s plea.

“He has a one-year-old son. Is it worth the risk of never seeing a little league game or dropping your child off at school? He decided no.”

If my memory is correct he has shown no remorse at all. I think if he had shown remorse the Judge might have been more lenient with his sentence. What he did was on camera and he's saying it was okay to do this by not showing remorse. It was not okay to do what he did. The law is the law.

Seems like an overzealous prosecution to me. Did he do something stupid? Yes. Does he deserve two years for it? No.

dude needs a good arse whipping, but instead, we are kicking dangerous criminals out of jail to make room to keep him for two, our judicial system is jacked...

Seems excessive. 60 days is enough IMO.

That's a bit much, huh? Community service, 30 days maybe...but 2 years?

Send him to O.P.P. for 30 days - he'll be cured!

Unless he has some sort of prior record that seems a bit excessive.
