Arkansas has made a head-coaching offer to LSU's Les Miles, the New Orleans Times-Picayune reports, citing a source. The Razorbacks offered five years, $27.5 million, according to the paper. A source told the newspaper...

"They made a serious offer," "(Athletic director) Joe (Alleva) is meeting with (Miles') agent and the discussion is ongoing."
Miles' agent, George Bass, dismissed the report, telling the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette: "There's nothing like that going on."

If Arkansas did offer 5.5 mil a year, how does that equal Les trying to shake down LSU for more money??

If your competitor at work gave you a job offer and you did not entertain the offer than you are an idiot. Les passed on the Michigan job twice (his supposed dream job). I would be shocked if he left for Arkansas.

I may be wrong but I think he took the hit on the play calling because of being a Head Coach with class that didn't put the blame on a coordinator. I dont see Les Miles with a play sheet so think the OC is doing the play calling with some tweaks from Les occasionally. We do need a new OC but lets look at the defense giving up last minute TD's at halftime and game end. I for one will hate to see Les leave but do want a new OC to come in badly. Les does a helluva job recruiting and that is how winning programs are built.

If Les has the gaul to shake us down for a few extra dollars then we should give him the money and demand it be used to hire and top notch offensive coordinator and have Les relegated to CEO of the program. If he refuses, let him go try and build a program in Arkansas. I can't imagine TAF agreeing to cough up any more than we have already committed. If memory serves me well, to win at Arkansas you need an excellent play caller to overcome the shortage for talent. Nothing against Les being head coach because he does other things very well, but the time has come to pass the play calling torch. His performance against Alabama cost us a spot in Atlanta and possibly a spot in Miami. You don't find many coaches in the country with multi million dollar contracts at Top 10 programs apologizing for their play calling. Why, because they don't put themselves in a position that would require one. Your move Les.
