Oklahoma And Texas Could Be Joining The SEC
John David Mercer-USA TODAY Sports
According to Brent Zwerneman of the Houston Chronicle, both Texas and Oklahoma reached out to the SEC in hoped to join the conference...
quote:

Texas and Oklahoma of the Big 12 have both reached out to the Southeastern Conference about potentially joining the powerful league, a high-ranking college official with knowledge of the situation told the Houston Chronicle on Wednesday.

An announcement could come within a couple of weeks concerning the potential addition of UT and OU to the league, the person said, which would give the SEC 16 schools and make it the first of a national super-conference.

Guessing Hoover will again be sending the flagship duo of Bama and Florida to Norman and Austin for a marquee SEC opener with the newbies.

Probably will happen. Other conferences will most likely follow suit.

I’m all for this. Texas girls are hot every time they show their student section. Plus an extra reason to go to Austin?!!! Come on down Texas. I guess the Boomer Sooners can come to.

This potentially could be worth it if it's to drop the NCAA. Otherwise we have enough, and don't need these 2 annoying fan bases. Funny though. Would be interesting to see utx needing to beg the Aggies. And not sure tx legislature would let it happen. Aggies found a small window open and jumped thru it. And okie state would need to come along too, so we would need someone on the east to even if out. I'd say wvu would be an easy get if big 12 breaks up, but an academic pariah.

Oklahoma and Texas always finds ways to lose a game every year - they do not need to come to the SEC to get it.

Im in favor too. We'll end up with two mega conferences with divisions like pro football.

Who really gives AF. College football rivalries, both team and conference, are going to all but disappear soon.

Aggies are worse than the Longhorns warned us they would be. Overall, they have detracted from the league. Mizzou? They’re still in the SEC? For real? Dump both of them and get OU and UTAustin.

Cant we just trade the Big 12 back Aggies and Mizzou to keep it at 14?
