How about a poll that doesn't start ranking teams until 5/6 games into the season. Eliminates "established media darlings" advantage. USC/Texas etc... that gets ranked high every year just for fielding a team.

One fricking poll, knowledgeable sports media reps and randomly selected coaches each year equal percentage from playoff conferences. One poll.

Excellent. This will certainly bring a lot to the table of discussion and provide original and objective ranking that will be taken seriously by all concerned. I'm sure the new ranking will factor greatly into the playoff committee's uncontroversial decisions.
