ESPN's Chris Low is reporting that Alabama defensive coordinator Kevin Steele plans to retire after 40 years in coaching. Per SDS:

That’s per a report from ESPN’s Chris Low who reported the soon-to-be 66-year-old Steele is set to hang things up after 40 years in coaching. That includes 12 years spent as a DC with Steele spending a large amount of his coaching in the SEC and ACC.

Steele played linebacker at Tennessee in the 1970s and eventually began his coaching career as an assistant with the Vols. He would go on to spend time on the coaching staff at Nebraska, Florida State, Alabama, Clemson, Auburn, LSU and Miami, among others.

Dude had a long run and made millions. If I was a 66 millionaire, last thing I'd want is to spend more time with Nick Saban yelling at me.
