Where to go for Guys golf trip?

Got a group of 12 guys doing a golf trip in mid July, and I’m looking for ideas on where we should go. Ideally, we’d like to stay within a 3 hour drive of Nashville since it’ll just be a long weekend. We stayed and played at Ross Bridge last year, and we’re thinking about maybe doing the RTJ courses in north Alabama this year. But I’m wondering if there are any good public courses in the Chattanooga or North Georgia area. What about southern KY? We'd like to rent a big house, but a hotel would be fine if it came down to it. Suggestions?

Always thought a fun guys golf trip would be to attend a major golf event and play a course or 2 in the area...make a long weekend out of it.

My ultimate guys golf trip would be to go out to Arizona during the Waste Management Phoenix Open. Seems like it'd be a lot of fun.

Chattanooga
Not sure about Chattanooga, but take the extra two hours to Knoxville/Sevierville/Gatlinburg area and there are plenty of wonderful places.
River Islands
Sevierville Golf Club (Highlands Course)
Sevierville Golf Club (River Course)
Dead Horse
Fox Den

Yup. My parents live on the 14th hole at the Great Waters course. Lots of courses to choose from.

Fly to Oregon and go Bandon Dunes. One of the best golf trips in the world

A little further than 3 hours for you, but Dancing Rabbit in Philadelphia, MS is a great guys trip for a weekend.

You can't go wrong with the RTJ and you can playa different course everyday if you don't mind doing a little driving

Scottsdale Arizona?
In the middle of July? With average daily highs of 105-110?
I mean.....on the plus side.....they would have the course all to themselves, and hotels would be really cheap

That place is just drunk people everywhere. Most of the spectators have no real interest in golf....they just see an excuse to drink and party. Awesome people watching, and great place to snag a high priced hooker if you have the $$$$$ I have absolutely no interest in golf.....but always had fun the times I went to the Phoenix Open.

Capital Hill Monthomery Al. 3 courses on the property. Part of the RTJ golf trail. Great accommodations and restaurant

You can play legit 5 star courses for like 75% off the peak rate during the summer in Arizona/Florida. I'm young, but my buddies and I went out there and played a few courses last year. Sure it's hot, but with enough water and beer, it's not bad. It's not like you're walking the entire course in that weather.

Very true. Especially if you are playing earlier in the day. And I bet yall got great deals on hotels as well. You could likely stay at some of the nicer resorts in Scottsdale for a fraction of the cost during peak seasons.
