Lake Tahoe or Jackson Hole?
Hearing the snow in Tahoe is kind of iffy every year.
Aiming to go Christmas/NYE.

It is. Mt Rose is the highest elevation of all the Tahoe resorts and has the best snow (least risky for that iffy snow). This year we are supposed to have colder temps and we've already gotten some snow and are due for more very soon. Tahoe should definitely be worth a look.

Depends, I've been to both several times. JH has more dependable snow, but the terrain is more advanced, albeit there are some green/blue runs. LT has much more variety, 6/7 resorts all within about 90 minute drive, but sometimes the snow is not guaranteed.

JH is tough. If you can't ski it, there arennt many alternatives. Tahoe has something for everyone. Local spots like diamond peak, resorts like heavenly, and underrated spots like kirkwood. If you can ski the chutes, JH is the spot.
