Last week the Westin cancelled all existing reservations until June 30, 2018. They are also not accepting any new reservations, regardless of date.

Caneel Bay announced this week that they will be closed until at least November 2018.

Those are the only two resorts on the island. Most visitors are either day trippers or rent a house or condo. However, the fact that both resorts will be closed for so long is a sad indicator of the damage and lengthy recovery process.

One of my clients has a condo on St Croix for personal use and two others in the same complex that he rents out.

Spoke with him last week. He flew down there just before Irma and stayed for Maria.

Said things are rough. Biggest problem is a lot of people have left, so not too many people there to help with repairs.

I have a lot of friends on St. John. They will be without power for months. It's a long, long road to full recovery down there and it might be even worse for an island like Jost Van Dyke.

Horrible conditions for the foreseeable future.

Maybe the President of the VI s can do something about this.

Yeah it’s soooo sad about the island we love that place. My lil cousin lives there and they just got back to the mainland and said they are definitely goin back but it’ll be a while before it’s back to half normal. The people who live there are a different breed they will get it back right he said. They are great people.
