Me, wife, and our 2 kids are going in June for 7 nights and staying at Beaches resort. Never been there, and never stayed at any all inclusive resort before. How much cash should I expect to spend once I get there? Minus all travel expenses. I know the drinks aren't included, and it's a family trip so wife and I aren't planning to sit by the pool all day and drink, but we will drink some. Plus any other shite there is to do. I figure we'll buy a couple souvenirs, but nothing crazy at all. Just trying to get a ballpark before wife jumps in and says I need too empty the savings the night before we leave. Also, should I bring a decent amount of cash with me, or are atms all over the place like they are here? I know they are on American currency, so that makes it a bit easier. Just trying to get some feedback before the wife bankrupts me. Lol

You sure about that? That's part of the draw of an all inclusive.

What did you think "all-inclusive" meant?

IMHO, you should check out staying at some of the other places on the island. Plenty of family friendly options there. You'll be able to enjoy the gorgeous beach and great restaurants much more. It will be far cheaper as well.

You'll basically be packed in like sardines while sitting on one of the best beaches in the world. Not ideal is an understatement.

Just my two cents.

I stayed at windsong (nice walk along the beach before we saw beaches). Still my favorite hotel to this day. Def would be kid friendly everything is low key.

To answer your cash questions, if you do beaches excursions then no tip. Other excursions outside of Beaches you need to tip, cash. I highly recommend Caribbean Cruising, Captain Rice.
Also if you go to the bars, fish fry, taxis you need cash. If you just stay at beaches no cash at all. Charge it all to the room.

We're heading there in May. Any can't miss restaurants? Suggestions on a fishing charter?

Caicos Cafe' (our favorite - eat here twice if you have a week)

Las Brisas - you need to spend a day at Taylor Bay and Sapodilla Bay

Coco Bistro

Bay Bistro (surprise your woman - email them and pay extra for a table on the beach at sunset with torches)

Lupo

Le Bouchon

Magnolia - get a table at sunset, outside, along the western rail. Get the tuna. They'll take care of you. Pretty good food, spectacular views.

Get breakfast in the mornings at Caicos Bakery (cash only) if you're within walking distance.

Now I want to go back badly.

We're staying in a house on the south side of the island off Turtle Tail Drive. Will do a few meals at home, but this will give us a few good suggestions

Good idea. I like that area.

Caicos Cafe and Coco Bistro are can't misses, IMO. Hopefully you enjoy them as much as we have.

I have a review in the pinned thread, there isn't a lot to do on the islands, it's mostly a place you go to lay on the beach, so money for things like snorkeling, parasailing and such will be all you need if you are staying at an all inclusive. Things like food and drink are expensive there.

If you want to eat at Coco Bistro you need to call for reservations tomorrow. And pray.

Bay Bistro is a great recommendation. It's fantastic.

ETA: there's plenty to do. A day trip to Middle Caicos via the ferry to North Caicos should be high on your list.
