Any you the OT sat through one of these sales pitches?
I got a sweet heart deal for a week on myrtle beach for $200. The kicker being I have to sit through a two hour "presentation" with my wife on Wednesday. I am 100% not interested in purchasing a time share.

Sat through a couple. Got a free night (out of two) at a golf resort in Scottsdale.
I want to buy one. I will do this again.

Yeah my wife signed us up for that shite. Spent the weekend in Gatlinburg a few months ago. The presentation isn't too bad. There's no pressure there, but once it's over you get linked up with an individual salesperson. They take you on a tour of what their properties look like and then sit you down to go over prices. The package they talked about in the presentation was like $500 per month. We said no thanks, her boss brought a "super deal", we said no again, then they escorted us out. We got $250 gift cards for Bass Pro and of course the hotel/show tickets for the weekend. I wouldn't do it again though. I had to be pretty firm with the sales staff.
Edit: Our was through BlueGreen

We sat through one this summer for a lot of free shows in Branson....prayers sent your way. They make it sound good but just say noooooooo. And if does start to sound good ask them about how much is your yearly maintenance charge

It'll be the worst $200 you've ever spent. You'll end up in jail and eventually divorced for beating your wife that week. But hey, what a deal for a trip to Myrtle Beach!!!

Depends where you go. The ones in Colorado screw with you, so I hear

I have never heard of anyone having a timeshare that was worth the amount they paid for it.
This was several months ago, but someone was telling me about how someone they are related to, for some reason decided to buy a timeshare in Las Vegas. Evidently it cost them something like $35k, which paid for them to be able to stay at the condo for 5 days, three times a year anytime they want, as long as the time has not been reserved already.
If they went to Vegas for five nights, three times a year and didn't have a timeshare, if they paid $250 a night for a room, they would have to go three times a year for about 9 years in order for it to be worth the timeshare. The guy told me he would be surprised if they actually went to Vegas once every year, but they were convinced the timeshare was an investment that couldn't be passed up.
Those presentations are not given to benefit anyone who is attending, everything comes with a cost, but if you think its worth your time then go ahead.

My parents got suckered into buying at one of these through Wyndham about ten years ago. It wasn't too bad, just pretty pointless now that they're retired and can't really afford airfares.
Then when they were in Mexico one time, they fell for one of the biggest scams, called my sister and I to tell how happy they were with it, we did a quick online search and fortunately they were able to cancel in time. They got all the documents showing they had cancelled in the time period they were allowed to and they still get letters and phone calls from collections agencies that they owe these shitheads money. They learned their lesson there.

Sat through an hour long demo last weekend. At the end, told them no thanks and that was it...couldn't believe there was no "additional" pressure.

Right before Katrina, my wife got me suckered in to one of these time share dog and pony shows. I have to admit, I was really impressed with their selling tactics especially them announcing a few couples that had just signed up.
I reminded me of something Jack Lemmon would have done in GlennGary GlennRoss. At one point, the time share that had started out at $20,000 got down to about $8000 and the sales dude practically begged us to buy.
I stood strong and gave them a flat out no. In order to get the free airline tickets we had to go through this gauntlet of people. The last person that had to sign off on us leaving was an older lady that I had known from my hometown. She finally let us go and gave us the ticket vouchers.
Would I do it again, hell no!!
Should you do it, hell no!!
Time shares are one of the biggest rip offs there is.

It's like those damn rainbow vacuums. Do they work, sure, are they worth $2,500, not even close. Will you feel like it's a great deal after listening to a salesman for an hour at your home, hopefully not, but probably so. That's their job.
