Where will you be staying on the island?

Will you have a rental car?

Regardless of your answers, go to St. John and when you aren't there, you need to be on your own catamaran in the BVIs.

St Thomas not near the destination that nearby St. John is. If I were you I'd change venues.

Unless you're staying at the Ritz Carlton or the big Marriott on St. Thomas, I'd VRBO a villa on St. John.

Frenchman's Reef. It's not all that nice.

St. Thomas exists for one reason and that's to catch the ferry at Red Hook to St. John.

Haven't been in 6 years, to the week actually. So yeah my opinion of the two STT resorts is invalid.

Ugh I want to go to St. John.

Megans Bay is beautiful, but the waves are not too much. But for a nice beach with wonderful views, it's top notch.
There is an aquarium / aqua park that is OK, but nothing really exciting.

We stayed here on a stopover a couple of years ago.

I *think* we were in one of timeshare units, but not sure. Booked with points and negotiated an upgrade to the "new" area with the good view, blah blah blah. It had just been renovated, so it was pretty nice. But definitely had the standard condo feel to it.

Restaurant was TERRIBLE. Beach is ok.

As someone said above, stay at the Ritz.

And, when you aren't at the Ritz, get your arse to St. John and the BVIs.

Have a great time!

Staying at Elysian Beach Resort on a week timeshare which is right by the ferry terminal. I guess we need day trips to St Johns and Jost Van Dyke.

Staying at Elysian Beach Resort in Bucktown. I personally don't want to fool with a car.

Stayed in a private palace there, right by the Ritz Carlton, just a couple of months ago. It was quite awesome.

Be sure to bring your passport, charter a boat, and do some island hopping.

Our charter captain did say that the USVI, St Thomas in particular, has the highest violent crime rate in ALL of the Caribbean.

First things first. St Johns is a university in New York. St John is an island in the USVI.

Day trips there and to the BVI are a good idea.

Yeah. Call it St Johns while you're there and see how that works for you.

We stayed at Frenchman's Reef in August. It was pretty good, but I'd go with what other people are saying and stay on St, John if you can. You get off resort property and it feels like Hollygrove with a view.

As in Hollygrove NOLA?

We are booked for a week at Elysian Beach so we have to stay there.
