Ski Trip Recommendations

Looking for recommendations for a snow skiing trip for a few novices. Preferences would be ski-in, not overly crowded, decent night life (dining and something to do, not a bar scene) and other entertainment besides skiing. Direct flights from BTR or MSY would be a plus but not necessary. Age ranges 40+/- so I'm sure everyone will be pretty so...

Cheapest direct flights are MSY to Denver. These can be had for under $200. Sick deal.
So, Winter Park, Breckenridge (worst deal in CO), Copper Mt., you might even try Monarch Mountain, but no crowds = no nightlife. Do you want the snow to yourself, or do you want "nightlife"?....it's one or the other.
Research Utah (Snowbird, Park City), Montana (Big Sky), and the Lake Tahoe area as well. Read the other threads on this topic. They're informative.
I'm going to Canada for half the price as those listed above, but I'm unsure of Banff nightlife. I ski to ski

Dining and something to do might well fit with Banff. Problem is, the main resort is 10 minutes away (Sunshine Village).

When I say nightlife, we are just looking for good dining and something interesting to do, not bar hopping. As I also mentioned, we are all around 40. I imagine we will be too sore to ski every day so something else in the area to do would be nice.

I'll go ahead and recommend Banff. It's something different. There's beautiful snow shoeing trips, hot springs, dog sledding, ice skating on Lake Louise, tubing, three different ski resorts, and plenty of restaurants. I'm sure there's more that I don't know about. I'm heading there for Mardi Gras.

For beginners, you can go to Aspen and stay in a great ski town. But, you'll want to ski Snowmass, Buttermilk, etc. Aspen (Ajax) and Aspen Highlands are more geared for intermediate - expert.
Park City is great for all of the above, as is Whistler.
Banff is magical, but light on nightlife.
Vail can get crowded quickly, but you can head to Beaver Creek for a lighter crowd.
I'd recommend with Park City or Aspen based on the requirements. If you guys are foodies - both locations pay off in spades.

...staying in the heart of Banff so Louise is about a 45 minute bus ride.
