IAH Houston:
Land at 8:09 terminal B from Baton Rouge (maybe we can shave a mins off)
Leave 8:50 terminal E (international)
Both United-This is on a Thursday morning.
Any tips? Things I can do to help my chances?

Sit near front of plane, check your bag (do not gate check). If you gate check, that easily will add another 10 minutes of waiting on the jetbridge. Take earlier flight out of baton rouge?

Won't checking your bag greatly increase your chances of the bag not making it on the next flight?

In most cases your bag will make a short connection since those baggage carts can travel around on the tarmac faster than you can walk around terminals, take a train (at IAH), then walk in the new terminal to the next gate. I think airlines stick luggage with quick connections close to the door so they can try and get the bags to the next flight
