Two things I enjoyed was taking a city tour on my first day or two. They take you into all of the neighborhoods and the Ballard locks, etc. This will give you a feel for the city and you can decide on other areas to visit after this.

Took a sailboat cruise into the sound as well. If the weather is nice this makes for some amazing views.
A ferry ride over to Bainbridge island is a good little half day trip.

Tour the locks, boat ride around the Sound, go check out the fish market, dinner at the Space Needle, I'd go check out a sports game depending on when you're visiting (Mariners, Seahawks, Sounders, WU Football)

Museum of Flight
If you have time, go to Victoria.

4 nights will really limit what you can do in Seattle since the outdoors are part of the draw.

Chihuly Garden and Glass was pretty amazing to me. Incredible stuff. Right next to the space needle.

Bainbridge is easy and worth a half day. Puke place. Go hiking somewhere.

There is a German town to the east a couple if hours that looks straight out of Bavaria.

Leavenworth. Used to be a logging town but when logging took a downturn in the 1960's, they remodeled many of the buildings to look Bavarian.
