San Antonio - Marriott Hills Resort

Spending a weekend in August in San Antonio. 2 nights at the Marriot Hills Resort. Kids 12, 7, and 4.
Planning on driving in early afternoon Friday morning and doing downtown San Antonio, Alamo, Riverwalk and all that touristy stuff with the kids. Head to the hotel in the early evening.
Saturday, we plan to make the water park and pool a full day for the kids.
Sunday, check out and head to the natural taverns and zoo in New Braunsfel and head home.
My question is the water park/pool big enough and will keep the kids attention for a full day? If not, is there something we are leaving out in SA the kids would enjoy as well? Just looking at options if available.
TIA

to answer original question probably not. not sure it is worth fighting a saturday crowd at six flags or seaworld.
splashtown is near the Spurs stadium. kind of a small schlitterbahn knock off. looks ok from the highway, may be less crowded.

Are you speaking of the JW Marriott resort?
I would head straight to the JW and never leave until check out time. I love that place. Kids will love it.
Touristy SA is dirty and trashy in my opinion. Not a fan.

You might consider the La Cantera Resort if you are not married to the Marriott. Six Flags, which has a water park, is just across the street.

I'll let you know. We're staying there with 2 kids for 3 nights next weekend. Planning Sea World on Friday, but not sure what the other plans are yet exactly.

Just got back from a long weekend there 3 weeks ago, Prom. And didn't you get banned? That was the DAT rumor yesterday.
Absolutely. We had 14 kids there (3-9 yrs old) for the whole weekend and they had a good time. 2 big slides for the above 48" kids, 4 tube slides where little kids can ride with parents, and a few small kiddie slides. Several different pools, a hot tub, and lazy river. Arcade, and there is a ton of room for them to run around with the 100's of other kids that will undoubtedly be there. Plus plenty of (expensive) booze, and the "scenery" was excellent as well.
I agree with a poster above. You don't even need to leave the resort other than to eat, IMO.

Yes is definitely the answer. Just got home from there this afternoon. My kids are 8 & 5. Stayed at the resort for 3 nights, but really only spent Saturday at the water park. We were out there from 9-5 and easily would've stayed longer, but a storm came in and they closed down for a little while.
We rode slides countless times, and floated around the lazy river quite a few laps also.
Got lunch at Rivertop Grill. It has a pretty solid menu, and the food was surprisingly very good. It's expensive though.
This was the view from our room.

My family and I was also there Thursday-today. Kids 10-7 loved it. Water park slides are perfect for elementary age kids. My kids also liked the sand pool.
In the evening they have smoores and the kids run around on the golf course.
We ate at Rivertop and Cibolo Moon on site. Quality and portions were good, but the prices were higher than Disney.
We did breakfast one day at Vida Mia about 2 miles away, it was really good.
We had pizza at 46th Street Pizza, also 2 miles away, and it was good.
Wednesday night we stayed near Six Flags and went there on Thursday before going to the Marriott. The Six Flags is nice and wasn't crowded. Our longest wait for any ride was about 5 mins.
