Headed up there in mid-October for a weekend & it will be our daughter's first time. Any suggestions on activities? Plan on Times Square, Rockefeller Center and/or Empire State Building, Central Park, & FAO Schwarz but wondering if there are any other kid friendly activities I should be looking into.

Sorry but FAO Schwarz closed last year. Take her to Lion King for sure!

Staten Island ferry is a fun boat ride for a kid. Grab a beer, good view of the Statue of Liberty. Museum of Natural History is relatively cool for kids (compared to other museums).

This website has a lot of good lists and ratings.
My kids love the natural history and the met. Just set a realistic time limit so it doesn't become a chore. Enter the natural history from the 81st entrance to avoid the massive line out front. The playgrounds in central park are very nice. The central park zoo is a little disappointing when compared to New Orleans or DC.
The Lego store and M&M are must dos for a 6 yr old but are torture for an adult.
If your kid has a scooter, bring it. It makes covering long distances much easier.
My girls are really into American Doll stuff. If your daughter is into that, there is a massive store by Rockefeller.

We took our 5 and 8 year olds last October. They really liked Ellen's Stardust Diner. Food isn't anything to write home about, but they have Broadway servers singing and interacting with the crowd.
Also took them to Dylan's candy store
