Got a generous xmas gift certificate from inlaws for wife and I to spend a weekend in Nottaway. Looking at website but the room options are a little overwhelming. Anybody have recs on where to sleep? Do they have packages combining dinner?

Get the most expensive room then. What is overwhelming about your decision?

Nice place. I have been to weddings there when they had the place lit up with candles. As far as dinner, too bad Lafitte's Landing is not open anymore.

My daughter and I went for a "girls weekend" (she was maybe 10) ... we had a great time. Stayed in the main house in a corner room upstairs. Pink canopy bed that I'd say is too small for a couple! No seriously, it may have been a double.

The restaurant was delicious ... oh the crab cakes were super fantastic! This was just fyi however in like 2011 and things may have changed.

We took the tour and we crossed the highway to check out the Mississippi River.

My comment about Lafitte's Landing was not meant as a criticism of Nottaway's restaurant. I have eaten at Nottaway several times and it was very good although it has been a few years.

I've only been for weddings but if I remember correctly all the rooms are fairly close in price. I'd try to get one of the rooms that has the private hot tub or private pool. I think its only about $50 more
