I'm looking into surprising the GF for Xmas or her bday coming up with tickets to the Swan Lake ballet in NYC in June. Right now, they only sell subscriptions to their spring performances, but I live in Nola and only want to go see this one show in June. They will sell tickets individually starting March 26.

Has anyone bought tickets to a show at the Met through a third party ticket re-sale website? If so, any issues?

My other option is to buy a gift card to give her now, then buy tickets when they go on sale individually in March. The risk here is there being a poor selection of available seats by that time.

Any advice is appreciated.

My advice is to go see a musical instead. My wife dragged me to go see kinky boots and it turned out to be hilarious and outstanding. We also saw Phantom of the Opera, by far the best one I've ever seen.

So many options....

My SO used to do ballet, and Swan Lake is one of her favorites, hence the choice. She has said she's always wanted to see Swan Lake at the Met

You'll be fine. Just get on March 26 and get them immediately. they rarely sell out until a few days before the performance. you'll be great and there isn't a bad seat in the house.

enjoy, it's a beautiful theatre and a beautiful performance. you'll enjoy the shite out of it if you at all like classical music.
