All national parks are free for a week starting tomorrow.

I visited Yellowstone and Teton last year during this time on my way to Alaska for work.
Was an awesome experience, the park wasn't completely open except on the western and northern entrances I believe.
Wasn't crowded, hotel prices weren't expensive because it's before the peak season.
Free entrance.
It's nice if you don't want to deal with the headaches of tourist season.

Anyone 62 or over should get a Senior Pass ($20 if you do it by mail; $10, in person) . Senior Citizien Lifetime National Parks Pass
quote:
For a limited time, senior citizens can get a lifetime National Parks pass for just $10—hurry, because the price is about to go up.
If you’re a U.S. citizen or permanent resident aged 62 or older, this pass gets you free admission into 2,000 federal recreation sites, including all of the National Parks, for life. That’s right—for life!

I haven't been to Big Bend, but it's on my list of ones to visit. Hell, they all are on that list. I've been to 28 so far.

We are in the Grand Canyon canyon right now. Unbelievably gorgeous and weather is perfect. Headed to Bryce Canyon and Zion next.

The little campground at the top of the mountain at Zion is worth the drive. I'm guessing it's still snowed under right now though.
