Flying into Dubrovnik in April and spending a few days there. Trying to plan out about 4 other days. Thinking a couple nights in Mostar and maybe the other couple in Montenegro (Budva, Kotor, somewhere else?). We'll have a rental car and don't mind driving. Any suggestions for Dubrovnik or Croatia in general would be appreciated as well.

Mostar was great...definitely go.

Don't miss Split. It was our favorite city of the trip.

Both are fun stops. Kotor is beautiful and has a great hike you can take to the top of the mountain/castle.

However, I’m not sure you need to spend more than a half day in these places. Dubrovnik and rest of Croatia is much better to stay overnight

Was wondering between this and Krka NP. Both look great. We'll definitely plant to check out one of them.

Thought this may be the case. Drive from Dubrovnik doesn't look bad, assuming we can get across the border relatively quickly.

I'll be in Croatia in April also. Doing a day trip to Montenegro from Dubrovnik with a rental car. Then driving through Mostar to Sarajevo for a few days in Bosnia.

You could probably get away with doing Mostar as a day trip. We did Mostar + Kravice Falls as a day trip from Split and I didn't feel like I was missing out on anything when we left Mostar. Lunch reco for Mostar would be Sadrvan near the Old Bridge. Excellent food and service.

Kravice Falls is about 45 minutes outside of Mostar and it's really cool. The water is pretty cold, which is really nice on a hot summer day. Not sure how that would be in early Spring, though. The falls were surrounded by a couple of bars/restaurants so it was a good spot to relax as well.

Just a heads up that it will be very mountainous with narrow, curvy roads. Beautiful views while driving if you aren't afraid of heights.

We will be doing a similar trip within a year.

We did spend about a week in Croatia really loved it. Here are some LINK selected photos.

Plitvice Is one of the great wonders of the world. You definitely would want to go there.

Seconded. Food there was plentiful, good, and inexpensive especially compared to Dubrovnik

Thanks for the info. We'll probably do at least one night there for a change.

Will check this out.

Done plenty of this, so no worry there. The passenger side will probably have finger marks on the door handle by then or of the week though!

I've been to Kotor, it was alright. If you're going to Dubrovnik, might as well go to Split while you're there.

If you are driving from Dubrovnik down to Kotor, Montenegro, stop for a meal at Verige 65. Verige 65

Good food and even better views of the Bay of Kotor.
