Great, I guess there was one issued last night... I'm going to Playa Del Carmen over Labor Day weekend with my wife and a large group for a surprise 40th for one of my buddies.

I think we'll be just fine but wanted to get others opinions on the travel warning?

That said I think you are OK, but I wouldn't schedule any future trips.

Ah ok... the annual obligatory warning. Although I didn't expect to see Cabo in there.

Meanwhile in Chicago and New Orleans....

Mexico just issued a travel warning for their citizens traveling to these cities due to the rising murder rates

My son and I are looking at Cabo for a trip in October. This warning there doesn't make me happy.

Cabo had their first shooting in a year, and the circumstances around it weren't anything close to a cartel shootout or a random tourist kidnapped and killed.

Cabo is 100x safer than most cities in the US. We go twice a year and feel safer there than here in Houston.

Should I be concerned about going to Tulum? Seriously considering doing our honeymoon there

Although I cannot rule out something crazy happening anywhere in the world (here included), Tulum was super chill a couple weeks ago. Did not feel unsafe at any point. It is now my favorite spot in Mexico.

October is even more safe than normal... Bisbees is late October and people come from all over the world for the tournament. Security is always top priority for this event

Mexico has more apologists than New Orleans . People love making excuses for Mexico, that's a constant. And it's nice enough I guess. But it just seems like a losing proposition to me ( I have a family member that owns in Mexico) considering the ethos of the country, and all the optional places one can go. It's just unimaginative to me considering all the other great places out there.
