Plan on driving up from Birmingham to Rising Fawn, GA Friday morning. It's just thirty minutes south of Chattanooga. There is a small community of four tiny homes that sit atop Lookout Mountain over looking the valley. From the pictures it gives a gorgeous view of sunrise and sunsets. I've been looking forward to finding out what it's like to spend some time with the SO in a small space.

Going to spend Saturday doing the tourist deal in Chattanooga. Rock City, Ruby Falls, Lookout Mountain, etc.. Saturday night I need the best place to watch the LSU BYU game in downtown Chatt. Going to stay at the DoubleTree downtown this night. Sunday morning wake up and get breakfast at Maple Street Biscuit Company. Maybe lounge around a little before heading back to Rising Fawn and explore Cloudland Canyon State Park. Maybe do a hang glide off the cliff.

Relax Sunday evening, taking in the views and the same on Monday.

Does anyone have any suggestions or edits I should make to my itinerary? I'm pretty excited about the tiny home.

If you play golf, you have to play Sweetens Cove. It's a hidden gem that's starting to get some serious recognition. 9 holes of really fun, enjoyable golf. First time there I played it 4 times around. Reasonably priced and a cool atmosphere.

Outside Chattanooga in South Pittsburg so crowds aren't as bad on weekends.

They are putting tiny homes in trees for treehouses that way too.

What kind of bars do you like?

Mike's Hole in the wall is a local dive that turns into an LSU bar on Saturdays in the fall. Beware, it's shitty.

Basically any bar you go to will be playing the game though because it is really the only sec game in the time slot. You may have to share TV's with auburn till that game finishes though.

T-Mac on market Street is a sports bar with a lot of beer options and about 60 TV's.

Clyde's is a fun spot that has a lot of TV's and good food.

Then you have all your basic spots like BWW and the like.

They aren't open on Sundays. Go eat brunch at Beast and Barrell, or Blue Plate, or the Flying Squirrel

Eta: or the bitter alibi.

Go to Clumpys for ice cream, but the one on the northshore. It has a lot more options than the one at the base of lookout mountain near the incline railway.

-Grab coffee and breakfast and sit outside at Rembrandt's in the Bluff View Art District.

-Grab some food at Aretha Frankenstein's (it gets crowded be prepared to wait)

-Grab lunch and some beers at Tremont Tavern (incredible burger)

-Rent kayaks/paddle boards and get on the Tennessee River
-Hike the Lula Lake land trust (only open to the public on certain dates - check before you go)
-Aquarium
-Rent bikes and ride along downtown and across the bridge onto the Northshore
-Chattanooga Lookouts if they are playing

DON'T do this. It is 100% not worth the 1.5 hour wait if you get there past 9 am.

They have good pancakes but blue plate makes the same pancakes without the long AF wait..

We got there fairly early and had a 20-30 minute wait. I agree, if it is 1+ hour, I'd skip it. It's a cool, unique restaurant, but it is breakfast after all...

I still think I'd rather go to Rembrandt's on a nice, cool morning just to relax and enjoy my coffee and breakfast on their patio.

Clyde's? Taco Mac? Big River Brewery? Maybe someone else can chime in on that one.

Assuming Tennessee or (I guess) UT-Chattanooga isn't playing at the same time, you shouldn't have a problem finding the game being shown someplace downtown.

Thank you everyone for the suggestions. When I get home this evening I'll catch up.

I forgot about the aquarium.. The gf loves shite like that. Kayaking the Tennessee river sounds like a great idea.

If you want a bit more of a ride, checkout Hiwassee Outfitters on the Hiwassee. Can rent inflatable funyaks or plastic sit on tops.

Or go do some whitewater at Ocoee.

Have a family cabin across the river from Hiawassee Outfitters. Love (and miss) that river.
