Thinking about camping out there Labor Day weekend? Anyone camped there in late August/early September? How hot does is stay at night? I saw average monthly temperatures with lows in the 68-70 range that time of year. But I guess I'm asking how manageable is it in reality?

I was looking at this earlier today for some hiking ideas. I don't think you can camp.

I think there's a Tunica Hills campground nearby

Gotcha. I'm not a camper, so I wasn't looking around for that. I was just trying to find something different to do. I guess I got the itch after our trip to Montana this year.

Yeah, I can't even imagine trying to sleep in a tent in that area in that time of the year. As said, they don't allow camping in that direct area anyway.

I camped in a tent at a canoe place right outside Hattiesburg MS in July one summer. I had fans running inside the tent and still sweated through about 5 shirts it was so hot. Only good thing was being on the water the next day.

Those overnight lows are very, very optimistic for Labor Day weekend. It's gonna be bloody hot, count on that. More likely lows this year are closer to 80. Do yourself a favor and wait at least a month, or maybe 2. By Oct 1, it won't be so horribly hot.
