if you love chain bars, go to P&L district, if you love good bars go to westport.

Shopping and finer dinning go to the plaza.

not sure about things to see, whenever I go there I put my liquor goggles on. I guess boulevard brewing co or negro baseball museum?

Food, this is where everyone has "their spot". I would say the three musts are q39, Joes, and Aurther bryants.

ignore the people who wear ku shite, they're the worst and will seek to ruin your time.

Q39 for BBQ.

I've heard Waldo Pizza is good but have never been there.

The Corner was good breakfast/brunch spot.

Go to the World War I museum...Q39, Jack Stack or Joes are the best barbecue...P&L is for younger people, other than the Flying Saucer. Westport has some great places. If you can get in, try the Tiki Bar below Hop Cat on Westport. The Chicken and Pickle is fun if you want to play Pickle Ball.

BBQ:
Q39
Char Bar
Burnt Ends
Slaps
Joes
Lc's
****Do not go to Arthur Bryant's...it is horrible****

Boulevard - nice visitor center/tap room. Great place to hang during the week because it doesn't get too crowded.
Crane - If you like Sours this is the place to go, great beers
KC Bier - great patio area, pretty good beers
Brewery Emperial - good beers, great burgers
Cinder Block - in North KC, great beers, across the street from Chicken n Pickle
Bier Station - best beer bar in town
Martin City Brewing - great beers and pizza

Other Restaurants/bars:
Manifesto - cool speakeasy bar for mixed drinks, in basement of Rieger which is ok restaurant
Nick and Jakes - good bar, and pretty good food
Waldo Pizza - its a dive of a place but not bad
Monarch - new upscale bar, haven't been but heard its good
Toms Town Distilling - make their own liquor, good food
Classic Cup - good breakfast/coffee spot on plaza

Things to see:
WWI museum - just amazing, must do
Nelson Atkins Museum - free, and an amazing collection of art, great place to just go walk around

Michael Smith's for high end meal, downtown. Jack Stack BBQ for an upscale (relative) bbq meal. Get the rib sampler...be hungry.

Yep, that and the WWI museum are my favorite things in KC. Maybe check out a Chiefs game if that fits your schedule.
