Jackson Hole/Yellowstone trip recommendations

My family is heading up to the Jackson, WY area this coming week. We are staying at a dude ranch just outside of Jackson. I wanted to see if anyone had advice on excursions or can't miss things to do while we are up there since it'll be our first time. We are planning to go rafting one morning and want to spend a day at Yellowstone. I think there's a rodeo somewhere on the 4th that sounds fun. Any other tips would be appreciated!

The 4th of July rodeo is very fun. It's been years ago, but if had a blast. Also, do the Bar J chuck wagon dinner/show one evening. It's good, clean family entertainment and isn't hokey. Take a pullover or a coat. The evenings can get cool. It's all God's country, so soak in the beauty.

I would definitely recommend at least one day taking the Gondolas up to the restaurant at least for appetizers on the deck. Get there at least 15 minutes before they open it up because the deck seating fills up immediately. Really great food too just on the deck even.
Give yourself extra time in Yellowstone than you think, its really a two day trip. The mileage isn't bad at all but you go a lot slower and will make many more stops than you think.
Also hard to beat eating on the deck at Dornan's. I really like the hike up Jenny Lake and its pretty easy, give yourself a half day for that.

The gondola/aerial tram looks awesome! Will definitely have to do that. Thanks

Dave Hanson White Water Rafting is awesome. Scary as hell but, an amazing experience.

Just got back, have dinner at the trapper restaurant at Signal Summit Lodge in Grand Teton at sunset. It sits on Jackson Lake and the Alpine look is incredible over water.
The inside loop at Yellowstone makes for a nice day: ole faithful (check out the inn too) , Yellowstone falls, plenty of wildlife..
Ask the Rangers at Grand Teton if grizzly #399 has been seen recently and where.
Watch the surfers at big kahuna on the snake river.
Bring bug spray, binoculars, and chapstick.

Snake river brewery is a pretty cool place to drink some brews. Also a pizza place off main street that was pretty good too. Can't remember the name but it was set back toward the middle of main street

Stay away from Jenny Lake- so crowded Lupine is a great trail. Have a blackberry margarita at Signal. We kayaked there. We do a Snake River tour every time.
Great restaurants downtown- Snake River Grill, Local and Trios good but at top of price range. Persphone Bakery is a must. The Bird is a bit out of town but great patio for burgers and drinks. Mange Moose in Teton is good. We rode bikes from Wilson to Teton Village. We actually like hiking Snow King in town and riding lift down. Leave really early for Yellowstone. Traffic is crazy this time of year.

Head over to Cody to the museum and see world class art and the best Firearms museum in the USA. There is also a great steakhouse there that is owned by an LSU fan. Best food in town.

The national wildlife museum right there outside of jackson is not bad either, I don't know if I'd plan around it but if you have 1-2 hours to kill and are in town or nearby I'd recommend it.

Yellowstone is huge. I would do at least a two day trip when I go back. One day is kinda pushing it.

Get to Yellowstone early. See the western side of the park since that's where the biggest atrractions are like the grand prismatic spring and old faithful. You wanna see that in the AM before it turns into walt Disney world.
go see the eastern part in the pm. Hike the canyon trail and see the canyon and waterfalls. Some really great views out there. The stretch from the northeast entrance is probably my favorite for driving
