Heading to Italy for 10 days in June/July for a wedding on the Amalfi Coast. We're gonna spend some time in Naples, Salerno, and a day in Positano as well.

Gimme all your best food and drink recs.

My best food and drink rec in Positano is LaSponda Restaurant in LeSirenuse Hotel.

Beautiful restaurant with windows overlooking the town and the Mediterranean. At night the restaurant is lit with 400 candles. Can't get any more romantic than that. And the food is delicious.
The drink part is from their outdoor terrace bar with the same view.

If you are looking for something more casual, Black's on the beach is a good hangout.

Spend as little time as possible in Naples. Do spend time on Capri.

Had a great meal at Da Vincenzo in Positano. I would book reservations for everything in Positano before because it all fills up.

We fly in to Naples Friday morning and will be heading to Amalfi the following afternoon. It's not going to be a big stop for us, but if there's something worth doing/seeing/eating/drinking, we'd like to squeeze it in.

I'm right there with you.

Flying over on 6/23 and back on 7/8.

We have a villa right off Lake Trasimeno from the 1st to the 8th, but are still planning out the week before.

We're thinking of flying into Rome and driving down to Pompeii for a day, then to Sicily for the next 5 and drive back up to Trasimeno for the next week. Problem is, it looks like a 7-8 hour drive to Sicily, which is 2 full days of travel, so we're on the fence.

Also thinking about driving down the boot and getting a house on the coast for a few days or potentially heading north to Venice/Milan/Como.

If anyone has suggestions, I'm all ears.

As someone else mentioned LaSponda in Positano was excellent. Our favorite dining experience in Italy. We also enjoyed Next in Positano as well. We rented a Gazza boat for two days with a captain in Positano, and we loved it. He took us to several towns where we got off and walked around. Stopped somewhere for lunch, went to some private beaches, swam through some caves. It was a wonderful experience for the four of us. Highly recommend. Late night we hit up Music on the Rocks which was a really cool bar to check out. Its in a cave down on the beach in Positano.

As others have said it's probably a good idea to spend less time in Naples. I've been there a half a dozen times and suggest the following restaurants:
Da Dora - if you like seafood, eat here. Not a super fancy place, but very popular with the locals. Warning, if he's still alive, the waiter Tony will quiz you on US state capitals. He knows them all.

Ristorante Europeo Mattozi - again, not a fancy place, but a restaurant where locals eat. My wife and I typically have lunch here and just have them bring out whatever. End up eating half a dozen different things including local mozzarella, eggplant salads, etc. All just fantastic. Mattozzi also has a pizzeria, which is also very good.

Pizzeria Da Michele - a Mecca for pizza lovers. Very simple place, making a few different types of pizzas for something like five euro. If you like Neapolitan pizza, go here.

The archeology museum is really interesting and if you have limited time, it's a good stop. If you have more time, I'd suggest visiting one of the actual sites. Pompeii is the most well known, but Herculaneum is closer to Naples and more compact and has an archeological park that you can walk through. Herculaneum and Pompeii are on the way to Amalfi, so you can do that on your way if you have time.

Have a great time, be careful in Naples as it's full of crooks and con artists.

If you are renting a car be prepared for the craziest driving of your life

Second for Pizzeria Da Michele. Be prepared to wait so make sure you have a plan going there. We got in pretty quick 25 mins maybe.

If you like mountain top Villas, check out Villa Cimbrone Gardens and Villa Cimbrone. Both are in Ravello. Probably the highlight of the trip for me in terms of historic stuff I saw. Swimming the Med though was magical.

Good lord. I'd never think about driving in Naples. It's insane there. And then that freaking road to the Amalfi Coast? No thank you.

I survived. It was literal insanity but I got the flow after a day or two driving along the coast road. I was most nervous about getting off the plane and having to drive after being up for almost 24 hours. We made it though.

I wouldn’t visit Capri if you were thinking about it. It was mostly a tourist trap in my opinion. Now the boat ride to and from was fantastic.

Would anyone recommend exploring the boot(Apulia) vs going to Sicily?

Anacapri is great. Capri central is mostly a playground for the rich and famous (and tourists as noted). The shopping there is Rodeo Drive on steroids.
