I will be passing through the area with the family in a couple of weeks and will only have one day in Boston due to other obligations. Any must do's we should put on our list? We've never been and wish we had more time but that will need to wait until next time.

If you are interested in history, explore the Freedom Trail. We did this. The Hop On Hop Off Bus takes you past just about any place you would want to go in Boston.

La Burdick drinking chocolate. Get a lobster roll and some oysters if you like them at Neptune's. Check out the bakeries in Little Italy, and Asian markets.
Bunker Hill was a great view but a bi**h to climb. The library has history and beautiful inside. Just walk some of the freedom trail and enjoy the history of the people that built this country

Depends on where you're staying and what you're into doing, because with one day you have to be pretty selective.

More details would help.
