Anyone done it?
What's the best way? Helicopter in? Places to stay? Other recommendations in the area?

I did a week long rafting trip down the Grand Canyon last summer and one of the stops was at Havasu. That was one of my favorite parts of the trip that area is incredible.

We saw some people that had hiked in it's a long way to go but totally worth it.

Sorry to not answer any questions but I highly recommend it

This is on my bucket list. I have several friends that have done it and they said it was amazing. They all hiked in/out. It's like a 10 mile hike down to the falls. You camp there at the bottom.

I did it last October with my son (8 at the time). The hike down was a little over ten miles. We had a guide and one other camper. We carried packs with personal items and mules carried our heavier items (tents, food, etc)

It was a truly amazing experience. You hike past the village of Supai, which is the most remote village in the lower 48 (you are on the Havasupai reservation). Havasu Falls and Mooney Falls are breathtaking. The water has a blue-green tint due to its lime content. The camp is at the base of Havasu Falls, and the creek runs right by your tent. There are pools and small falls for playing in.

The hike was a little tough but not that bad. We found some fossils along the way, which my son loved.

In summary, it was an amazing trip and definitely worth it. I can give you the name of the outfit we used if you'd like it.

To answer your other questions, I'd hike if you can do it. You can take a helicopter or mule, otherwise. The beginning of the hike is off the beaten path, but close to Route 66 - we did the Sky bridge and Route 66 the day before, and went to the South Rim afterwards. Vegas isn't that far (that's where we flew in to).

Hiked in and out a long time ago in college. Obviously, the hike out was harder than hike in. You'll need to be in decent shape. Falls and pool are incredible. You'll have to take a trail straight down to the pool.
