So glad to see the raves still solid. We are going in a few weeks for our honeymoon because of this board’s raving in the past.

There is no way this place is $3-4K. We stayed at Le Blanc and drove by there and it look amazing.

Secrets Maroma or Secrets Akumal would be in thay price range and are both great adults-only AI.

Went to Secrets Cap Cana in July. Pricy when compared to some others there, but worth every penny. Book Preferred Club level room if you go- we had Ocean Front Master Suite with private plunge pool on balcony. Next visit (July 23) we will have Ocean Front Master Suite swim out. Food and seevice were amazing - especially the French restaurant. Bali bed on beach for $100/day was well worth it.

Have done (these are all adult only)

Secrets Maroma Beach
Secrets Puerto Los Cabos
Excellence Playa Mujeres
TRS Yucatan
TRS Coral

Excellence had the best food overall. Great drinks, a lot of scheduled activities, never boring. Grounds and rooms were great, but it may be priciest on list, although Secrets Maroma Beach has skyrocketed in price in last few years.

Secrets Maroma Beach deserves its reputation. It's just a special place, not sure what it is. Has nice rooms, good activities, great food and the best beach I've ever been on. Service is great.

Secrets Puerto Los Cabos is an incredibly beautiful property. Larger than Maroma Beach. Same food as other Secrets, but I find that service in the Yucatan area is just better than in Cabo area. Cabo, you rarely have to worry about weather, but the beach at this property is not swimmable.

TRS Coral is a newer property, very modern. Great food. Best think about most TRS properties is that they are part of a larger Grand Palladium property. So you have use of all of Grand Palladium. This is great if you are on a longer trip, as you never run out of things to see, do and eat.

TRS Yucatan, though older than Coral, is my favorite. The TRS area was redesigned about 5 years ago. It has an infinity pool, Helios, that is propped over the coastal water. I know it's just a pool, but it's the best pool and view IMO. It is also part of a massive Grand Palladium property. I love this resort because it is cut out of the mangroves and all buildings are separated out by walkways and bridges with a fresh water system running all through the property. You can take boat rides to the different areas. The setup makes the place feel intimate though extremely large. As does the other TRS, they have a dinner show, Chic Cabaret, that is far and away better than any resort show that I've seen. The shows at most resorts are fun and fill the time, but Chic Cabaret is a spectacle with a 5 course meal and very good talent. TRS has surprisingly good room service, and they only place where you can order lobster at any restaurant, including with room service (or at least you could at the time we went).

That's all I got.

More about desire? We like fun. Not LS but don't mind the scene. We also like a nightlife on the resort we are staying, which can be hard to find these days.

I was there in January at the Palladium White Sands and walked around the TRS area and thought it very nice. Like you, I enjoyed the mangrove areas and the wildlife. The whole resort feels like so much more than just a beach and a pool.

This and make sure you book direct. They usually have promos on their website and are cheaper than 3rd party sites anyway.

Wife and I are looking and Playa and cancun seem to be ground zero. Rest of Mexico seems to be under some travel advisory.
Excellence looks nice
Hyatt Zilara too
Also looking at Hilton since we are diamond there.
Curious if anyone has been to these other properties.

Edit. Looks like Excellence Riviera Cancun is going to be the place.

We stayed in one the bungalows. It's a circular 1 room freestanding cabin. Has an outdoor shower, a balcony on the freshwater with a canoe for your bungalow. It was a damn cool room to stay in compared to the buildings.

I’ve been to several secrets, excellence & sandals resorts . Stay away from sandals because they’re overpriced and most of them are very dated . Excellence and secrets resorts are the best bang for your buck all inclusive adult resorts . Secrets moroma beach and secrets cap Cana was my favorite secrets . Excellence playa mujeres and excellence oyster bay was my favorite excellence resort . Both chains are owned by 2 different brothers and the resorts are very similar. I think Hyatt owns all the secrets resorts now . It all depends on what you’re looking for in the resort . Some have better beaches while others have better food or amenities .
