Hey TD fam, I'm staying in the Boston area for a little over a week, heading up to Maine and NYC area too. Any must go areas that are family friendly? Really don't know what to do besides walking and eating.
Also looking for an awesome lobster spot.
TIA!

Best lobster spots in Maine are the shacks with no name.
I live in Boston so I can help you out there. Plenty of family friendly stuff to do. What time of year are y'all traveling?
Edit: also, your name is beantown. You should know what to do here.

We're leaving this week actually, I know bad planning. Just open to anything really. Even just areas good for walking around that won't gouge us for cash or feel touristy.
yes, I forgot. It's just a nickname from a friend actually.

If you post your email I'll be happy to send you a guide I wrote. Fair warning though, I don't have kids so a lot of my advice is beer related.

Had lobster several places in Maine and it was all good, hole in the walls that I can't even remember the names around Kennebunk.

The Boothbay Harbor region is a great place to visit. Brown's Wharf Inn
In Boothbay is very good. Also a neat place is 5 Islands Lobster in Georgetown. If you are driving up from Boston, Michaels Harborside Restaurant in Newburyport Ma is pretty good. There are plenty of things for a family to do in the Boothbay Region. Have a great time,

I'm really sorry, I have my mother in town this weekend so I've been busy playing tour guide. Sending it right now. Again, apologies.
Edit: you (wisely) deleted your email, could you please repost? Or you can just shoot me an email and I'll respond to that.

I hope the experience was a good one. My business on here is highly dependent on referrals.

Bumping to avoid starting a new thread and you seem to be pretty helpful. Will be there in late September. We have a Friday night baseball game on the docket and wanting to see some of the colleges as well. Beer friendly group so any advice there is welcomed. Definitely will need to be in front of a tv that Saturday for LSU v. Mizzou so any cool suggestions on where to watch are welcomed.

I was very busy yesterday, so I wasn't able to directly answer some of the stuff you asked.
Keep an eye on the weather for a Friday night game in September. I'm not saying you're going to freeze to death, but it will probably be cooler than you're expecting.
As far as the college tours go, I have to say I haven't done those since I came up to Boston as a kid with my family. Harvard Square is a pretty cool area though.
You've come to the right place, then (both referring to Boston and myself ) There are tons of great breweries up here, as well as places with extensive beer menus.
Breweries include: Harpoon (if you're going to do a tour, do it here, and make sure to get a fresh pretzel), Trillium, Aeronaut, Night Shift. I would highly advise you avoid Sam Adams - it's extremely touristy and the beer is meh.
I would also recommend Lord Hobo, Worden Hall, and Cambridge Brewing Company as places to go with extensive beer lists.
This is the easiest one to answer. The Baseball Tavern is LSU's alumni bar and the best place to catch a game. It's directly across the street from Fenway Park.
Hope this helps.
