Going to Astros game early August. Any good hotels close to park and things to do with 10-12 yo kids. Any tips would be appreciated

quote:Plenty. Hilton Americas, Embassy Suites. I'd go with hilton. For kids... not too much downtown really.

Take the train to the zoo or visit the aquarium that is located in the CBD.

I am doing the same. I have done it the past 3 years and always stayed at the Emmbassy Suites - good breakfast and a rooftop pool.
Anyone have recommendations on a decent place to take kids (4 and 7) to eat downtown, preferably close to Minute Maid or BBVA Compass.

Take kids to The Aquarium. It's a Landry Corp restaurant. The food is average, but families are the target audience. Don't be misled by the name. You're not going there to enjoy looking at fish, you're going there to let kids be amused.
Another option is House of Blues and Hard Rock Cafe.

I recently went to the Buffalo Bayou Park cistern. Might not be great for a 10-12 YO but it was very interesting. Make sure you purchase tickets in advance.
