Suggestions on best place to stay with young children (7 and 5)? Heading there next July. Would like to be close to the park if not in it. I seem to recall someone on here in an earlier post mentioning some cabins owned by a family member that were close to the park. Thanks in advance.

I work with a lady who manages a bunch of cabins outside the park. There is lodging inside the park but if you want outside, there are many options. Your best bet is to just VRBO some places and go from there. It really depends on which side you want to stay on. The more touristy area is West Glacier.

For backpacking, scrambling and day hikes, the east side is better. For family fun, the west side is better (water park, zip lines, go karts, bumper boats, golf, white water rafting, etc).

Thanks PNW. We took your advice and moved the trip back from June to July in the hopes that Going to the Sun will be fully open by third week of July. Will likely check back with you between now and then for more advice.
