On sunday ill be driving over to angola rodeo for the first time. I believe the gates open at 9 and the rodeo starts at 2. What tim should I get there? Is there stuff to do there besides watch the rodeo? I have no idea what to expect....any advice at all before I go?

If you are bringing your SO and she looks halfway decent, make her dress conservatively or she will get creeped out. The inmates made my wife very uncomfortable and she will not go back.

Subtle brag.

I've been several times, including last weekend. Prior to the rodeo, the arts and crafts booths (items created by inmates) are open. Very repetitious. Can negotiate pricing better on this fourth weekend. There are a ton of food booths - nice variety. Inmate bands in the "food court" area. We arrived around 10:00 and after walking around and eating had an hour to kill before the actual rodeo. Prepare to wait a while to get out.

The crafts are pretty cool and my son and I bought some nice leather belts. The food is decent and it's just a cool experience walking the prison grounds.
To me, the rodeo itself was pretty hokey. I was expecting a lot more blood and guts and edginess but all I got was campyness. I guess I don't have too much experience with rodeos so that if that's your thing you might enjoy it.
Best advice is to leave early.

It's kinda fricked up when they strap the monkeys to the dogs.
They still do that?
ETA: I bet there a few people wondering if they just read that sentence correctly.
