What are some single day family activities to do within 1-2 hour drive of Baton Rouge. I have a 2 and 7 year old and we are open to anything. What you got?

Wait a week and go to the new children's museum.

My wife was there this morning, the place looks awesome.

It's off Dalrymple north of 10 by the LSU lakes.

Knock Knock Open 8/22

For those that have been to AI, what age is it geared towards kid wise?

The few times I've been to the island I was going down the shaft.

arse.

Go to Nola to see the Aquarium and insecterium.

It's to hot for now, but to keep in mind, the zoo is fun. City Park has added a lot of stuff and you could make a full day out of that.
Paddleboat ride on the river.

The new Children's Museum will be awesome, but will not open until next year.

As for other stuff nearby, I can't think of much. Maybe if you are ok with some trashiness, the new Margaritaville Resort in Biloxi has a decent pool area with slides and such and a big arse game room.

I'm not going to turn this board into a stupid arse OT debate.
10 million people came to the city last year and I'm thinking 99.9999% lived.

Yes the mayor acted like an idiot, but it's not reason to boycott the city.
