Exploring Nevada by Car

I've been back and forth on my April road trip, and have finally narrowed it down to Nevada (and Death Valley). I believe April will be a great time to explore the desert state so I did some research on things to see.
Here's what I have so far, so I may be missing some places. It's one long and ovally loop once you trace it on a map (driving from Montana):
Great Basin NP
Ruth Mining Pits
Lunar Crater
Extraterrestrial Highway
Elgin (ghost town)
Valley of Fire
Lake Mead NRA
Red Rock Canyon
Charleston Peak
Death Valley NP
Rhyolite (ghost town)
Humboldt-Toiyabe NF
Sand Mountain
Pyramid Lake
Fly Geyser
Am I missing anything? Where can I see wildlife? I have been to LV twice so I have no interest in going again other than connecting to Red Rock Canyon from Lake Mead.
I'll be driving through the Sawtooth area of Idaho on my way down and through southeastern Oregon on my drive back up. I will be car camping with my dog.
* I will be providing a review thread at the end of my trip.
Anyone familiar with Nevada (outside of LV and Tahoe) have any recs?

I am familiar but not. My father and I did a lot of driving around but I never really knew all the names. We've hit all of the spots you listed but the random ghost towns always made my day.

Matter of fact, I'll be driving right by it on my way back north towards sand mountain. I'll definitely check it out; not sure if I will stay there tho (budget). Are they dog friendly?!

Take a look at the place. I would imagine it is both budget and dog friendly.
Looks like a place in the middle of nowhere that rents by the hour.....with clowns

It's also next to a creepy abandoned graveyard. I gotta check this place out. It's now a priority/highlight for my trip

Post pics for us! There was a thread on here(I think on the OT) at one time about that motel.
Our friend said the graveyard is also really creepy, his motel room back window he stayed in looked right out over the graveyard.

Absolutely
The weirdness and unknown of Nevada has always fascinated me.

RUBY MOUNTAINS!
Lakes loop if you want to hike. There is fishing and wildlife in these high peaks.

I read about these
I'll have to see where in Nevada they're located.
ETA: Upon further investigation, it appears I'll be driving by them on my way to Great Basin.

You gonna go? It was on my list but I've decided to limit my summer trip to just Northern CA

Possibly... Elko isn't too far out of the way. It just depends on how my Day #2 is going.

That sounds like a good idea. You never hear about anyone taking a Nevada road trip. You'll be an expert on the state by the time you finish.

We went to Virginia City 30 years ago to have a beer or two at the Bucket of Blood Saloon....pretty unique old western town in the middle on nowhere

I took field trips to Virginia City and Berlin State Park to see fossils. 8 year old me thought both were pretty cool.
