Personally I'd give the Sixth Floor Museum downtown a shot-
It's kind of a can't miss there.

Brunch- Smoke, Top Knot, Saint Ann's, Stock and Barrel, Bolsa
Bars-for views and outdoor drinking- Katy trail ice house, Rustic, truck yard, hg supply co, happiest hour

Del Frisco in Uptown is an awesome place for dinner. Katy Trail Ice House is another great place to eat/drink.

Lower Greenville has morphed into a pretty nice area with a lot of good restaurants i.e. Rapscalion (upscale southern), Teppo (sushi), Blind Butcher (Gastro pub), Libertine (pub w/ good food), GGs Sevan Cafe (Mediterranean- BYOB), Nora (Afghani),Palapas (mexiacn seafood),etc..... Its a very "walkable" area of about 1/4 mile lined with bars and restaurants. Dallas Beer Kitchen and Bottle Shop are 2 good craft beer bars, Single Wide is a sorta dive bar with good craft beer selection and Truck Yard is a really nice "austin like" bar with a big outdoor bar area w/ food trucks.
Museums:
The Nasher has a nice modern sculpture garden.
Dallas Museum of Art is next door to the Nasher and is free for its permanent collection. If you want to see their "special" exhibits, you have to pay.
Crow Museum across the street from the Nasher is an Asian art museum that is free. They sometimes have cool traveling exhibits too. All these are downtown in the "Arts District". You can walk over to Clyde Warren Park which is the new park built over the freeway. There are some nice views of the skyline from there and a lot of people strolling around. There is a nice restaurant and beer garden at the park too.
You should go over to Ft. Worth for a day if you have time. You can take the train from downtown Dallas to DT Ft. Worth. That's what we usually do so I can drink and not worry about the 45 minute drive back.

Thanks guys. Im 25 and going with my fiancé. I will definitely try out some of these food joints. She wants to do some kind of wine tasting or something along those lines as well.

Go to scardello, I don't know if they necessarily do wine tastings but they do cheese tastings with wine.

Pecan Lodge is some super fine eats. Try it for lunch one day.

Wine Tasting
Go to Kent and Co on Magnolia Avenue in FW.
Over 300 wines by the glass. Good wine, too. They always have some hammers on the list.
