The wife and I will be in Croatia for roughly eight days, arriving in Split and Departing from Dubrovnik. With three nights allocated to Dubrovnik, where would you spend the remainder if given the choice of Hvar, Korcula, or elsewhere in Dalmatia?

At least two nights in Hvar. It is easily accessible by ferry to/from Split and Dubrovnik. Most people start in Dubrovnik, ferry to Korcula, ferry to Hvar, and then ferry to Split (or the reverse route). Korcula is worth the stop, but IMO not as much to do as in Hvar. Instead of Korcula you could stop on Vis, which was just rated as having the top beach in Europe. Split is good for two nights, with easy day trips to Trogir, Krka Nat'l Park, or Sibenik.

Sretan put!

Curious, anyone been to Plitvice Lakes and know how long it takes to get there?

About a three hour drive from Split, but worth it.

It is really beautiful.....although it can be over run with tourist groups. We went in the afternoon and almost had the place to our selves. It takes about 2.5 hours from Zagreb by bus. LINK
