Went here for my honey moon. LINK / Amazing trip. Did a tour every other day.
Heading back this summer, but we'll be further south in Quepos. Only reason we are not going back is that we wanted to see more of the country.

Each area is different. Guanacaste has a different feel as you get more of the tall rocky beach views. Much less crowds, not that there are people all over. Kind of reminds me of the views of Greek islands. Los Suenos is ritzy resort, loaded with multi million dollar yachts. They cruise out 40 miles for awesome fishing. After the resort, you can go into Jaco for the city life. Surfer areas, quaint smaller city on the beach. Lots of 1/2 day and full day tours. Guanacaste is a different landscape area. Taller rocky cliffs and gorgeous views. Same type tours etc, just a different place, 2.5 hours away by car from Herradura. But the best all day tour is 30 mins away from the airport in Liberia. Multi tour that is awesome.
