Anyone ever been and how much more expensive is everything that weekend?

Wife and I are trying to go to Chicago next spring. No pics.

TIA

Was in Chicago a few years ago the week prior to St. Paddy's day.

It was snowing sideways.

FL Keys would be better for that party.

It's really fun, but the weather is really unpredictable in the middle of March here.

I've been here when it's been 70 and sunny on St. Patrick's Day and I've been here when it's been 25 and snowing six inches on that day as well.

It probably isn't all that much more expensive, if at all, during that weekend. The city is huge, so it absorbs those extra visitors without a hit on price.

It's fun as hell, though. One of the days I most look forward to living here.

I've been to three. There are a lot of drunk people and bars are full from 9AM on. by 6-7 PM, everything is a shite show and I just find it not so much fun to be out anymore. This past st paddys day I left our groun around 6:30 and went home. Napped for ~3 hours and went out around 11 when most of the deliquints had passed out.

I went a few years ago. It was absolutely freezing.

I don't remember things being more expensive, but I used points for the flights and hotels.

Everybody was completely shitfaced well before lunch. They have a parade with about 6,000 Irish dancers. And they dye the river, of course.

But most of all, it is just bone chilling cold.

Enjoy the 20-something year old bros and whores vomiting on themselves and the sidewalks.

The lines into overcrowded bars where it's tough to get another drink are a blast as well.

About ten years ago I was there during st paddys, my friend disappeared half way through the night at some random club, we found him passed out on the shitter. That night Made the top 5 of my all time drunkest moments. Surprisingly, another Chicago trip is in my top 5 as well.

Sounds like it could be fun depending on how you look at it. Don't necessarily want to deal with snow but I really wanted to catch a hawks game before the season ends.

If the weather is good it'll be fun. Green river, green beer, yada yada.

I could see that. I was just concerned about hotels and such going up in price for that weekend.

Growing up in Chicago, this was always a huge weekend for us. Some years were more memorable than others when the weather was decent (high 50s - low 60s). Always a great time though.

I been there. They dye the river green and drink a bunch of green beer. Don't get shot. That sucks!
