Any suggestions? Do they still have the direct flights from Lafayette?

Allegiant left awhile back. Waaaay back.
I think Allegiant is still flying direct Vegas for Shreveport on Mondays and Fridays for about $150 each way.
Not counting other fees of course
If I were you I'd fly Southwest out of MSY for $150-$250 each way. Less chance of MX issues

Money-wise, I find good deals on Vegas.com. They don't always have the best departure and arrival times.

Is that really the best out there? I would have thought closer to $200?

Fly Spirit or Southwest direct out of New Orleans. Spirit is kind of like a bus...cheap base fare, and they charge you for bags, seat assignment etc....but it's still dirt cheap.
I recently booked inside of 2 weeks for a trip the Vegas and the total fare after all the add on stuff was 475 for 2 adults. Flight times were perfect and it was direct...pretty much a no brainer.

Damn! That reminded me of those $45 RT flights they had during the 80's. Long weekends back in college.

Nowadays it's really a hard task to find cheap flights. I look for them at this engine https://lowcost.club/ . You can also try to look for tickets there. Moreover, it offers the lowest prices. I haven't found anything cheaper yet
