We do Phoenix West the past 3 years getting bored. Anything in TX. Or maybe something new in Orange Beach?

Not joking. Toledo Bend. We just spent our 25 anniversary weekend there with our kids. Booked on vrbo a fantastic lake house and did a charter fishing trip. It's not often that all schedules align so we gave up a fancy vacation for this

We all had a fantastic time. Btw I'm the wife and it was MY idea.

Y'all got the vote in 1920 and it's been downhill since then...

OP: Check out the Mississippi State Parks. Staying in cabins on them.

Tishomingo (NE corner up above Tupelo) is my favorite.

Alabama has some nice state parks as well, just don't tell them they're nice.

Percy Quin in Miss is nice.

I rented a condo in PCB last year for $110 a night. I wasn't expecting much but it turned out to be a great deal. I can pass on the condo owners name if you'd like. My family of 4 spent 5 days there. We hung out on the beach a lot, took a charter fishing trip, Dave and Busters, Ripleys Believe It or Not and Wonderworks, swam in the condo pool, cooked, relaxed and did a canoe trip all for under $2,000 with 4 people.

I'd go to Dauphin Island. It's a quick drive and a lot more quiet than Orange Beach/Gulf Shores.

If you want a city:

Houston is 5 hours.
Memphis is 5 hours.
Chattanooga is 8 hours.
Nashville is 8 hours.

My wife and I are visiting Natchez for an inexpensive weekend getaway. It is a 2 hour and 45 minute drive from New Orleans.
