Favorite restaurants are

FIG
SNOB
Anson
Peninsula Grill

The Vendue is my favorite hotel.
Nice hotel in a great location with a couple of good bars including one on the rooftop.

You'll get plenty of Charleston recs, but for a weekend with couples that want to hit bars, etc., I'd recommend swinging over to Shem Creek in Mt. Pleasant for Red's Ice House, Saltwater Cowboys, Tavern & Table, etc. Some very fun patio spaces, especially Red's.

Last Saint is a great cocktail bar. Dalila's is right there, too, and also a very good cocktail bar - music is on point if you like hip hop.

Was coming her to say this. I am Charleston once a month for work. The Moxy is a fun new hotel downtown. There is also a nice Hilton Curio Collection hotel, but it is a little pricey. Market street is a lot of fun. Oyster house nearby is pretty good.

Where are you staying?

Windjammer is a good beach bar, been going there since I was a teen in the 70’s.

The restaurant recommendations you’ve been given are all solid. If you want to eat seafood on paper plates in a dumpy place with a great waterfront sunset view, go to Bowens Island out towards Folly Beach

Look up Firefly distillery, at times they have live music. Tour the distillery, sample some drinks.

Any preferences your group have? Lots of stuff to pick from.

For history, both Fort Sumter & the building with the jail downtown (forget the building name). Was skeptical about a carriage ride, but rec. Tour old churches. If you are near the Embassy Suites, worth poking your head in ... was the original Citadel Military College (you can see pics on the Internet to compare).

167 Raw ... off hours (you are welcome), Halls Chophouse for brunch, 82 Queen considered touristy, but not bad, Cru Cafe pretty good. Missed eating at Fig, but someone who should know has it at the top of their list. It will be at the top of my list when I go back. Also heard good things about the Peninsula Grill, but did not make that either.

Husk was a MAJOR disappointment. Nice old house though.

Their cocktail bar out back, Bar167, is solid, too. They have small bites menu, but have only done cocktails.

Visited Charleston twice this spring and The Quinte has been go-to for oysters and martini.
