I am going to Disney soon. I have been plenty of times before and I really enjoy the secrets of disney. Like the things that not everyone knows about. Does anyone know of anything that we could do?

Try disboards.com

It's literally the Tigerdroppings equivalent for Disney on steroids.

The the poster above said. Disboards is your best bet. There's a nice behind the scenes tour you can take. My kids always enjoyed looking for hidden mickeys around the parks. There's some secrete paths in Animal Kingdom that supposedly exist but we've never taken the time to find them.

You referring to the ones around the Tree of Life? I know that they recently eliminated many of them...which sucks because you got incredible views of the tree along those paths.

read it daily. There are tone of secrets but depends on what you are looking for. I mean, there are literally books just on "secrets".

Seriously, link below is pretty funny, entertaining and very useful.

LINK

I can provide some tips but you're going to have to be a little more specific. Being that you are leaving soon you probably don't have too much flexibility to change some dining and night time entertainment but tell us about your trip.

How many people going? For how long? Ages of those going? Staying where? Like thrill rides? prefer meet & greets and character interaction? Drink alot of alcohol? Foodies?

I can suggest a great place in Epcot (Italy) that offers a hidden little wine bar thats off the radar but if you're going with 11 year olds who want to do test track 14 times, that doesn't help.

Here are two things I love to do that the casual Disney visitor doesn't know -

Restaurant: Big River Grille and Brew Works - good food and the brew beer in house.

Attraction: In Epcot - Japan - When you go inside the gift shop, they have a pool where you select an oyster. They culture pearls and you have them mount and make a piece of jewelry. Your girlfriend will probably like this.

Hope this helps.

If you are into history I'll suggest looking for a particular stone lantern in the Japan pavilion. There are obviously no signs telling about it, but it was a gift to Roy Disney from Emporer Hirohito. Apparently he was a huge Disney fan. I just think its wild that something like that is in WDW.

I always enjoy watching the little Japanese girls putting on their oyster show.

Just to add to that, apparently Hirohito was offering that as try and entice Disney to build a theme park in Japan.

Go counter clockwise through the Magic Kingdom. You will have less people to deal with. Almost everybody goes clockwise, starting in Tomorrow Land.

You can enter Epcot via the side entrance at Disney Boardwalk. It allows you to skip all the crap attractions in front. You start out between England and France.

It's hot as balls in Orlando.

Isn't tomorrowland to the right of Main Street, making it counter clockwise?

I get it but it sounds like something a 13 year-old boy would get into deep trouble doing in an amusement park.

Have a great vacation.

Yep.

My contribution:

Many people don't know that you can get haircut on Main Street. Not the boutiques, but a legit haircut. Harmony Barber Shop. We took our son there for his first haircut. Got a certificate and Mickey ears. Cost? $18. Most reasonable price of anything in Disney. It's tucked away in the left corner of the "town square". Tiny place.

I wish I could explain this one but "Go Left". Maybe it's just how the brain works but I've used this practice for years and it's amazing how many times I will wlak up to Hollywood studios and see 10 families already lined up at the Mickey Readers, but go all the way to the left and be one of the first 3 or 4.

LINK

quote:

The first example you will find is right at the turnstiles at park opening time. The lines on the left-hand side are almost always half as long as those found on the right. After entering the Magic Kingdom, you will see that a huge majority of the guests head to the right after hitting the hub. Granted, many of them are going to the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train or to meet Anna and Elsa, but this concept has held true many years before those attractions opened. Unless you specifically need to get to Fantasyland or Tomorrowland at that time, I highly suggest making the left turn toward Adventureland.

Not surprising. North Americans are conditioned to defer towards the right. It's how we drive in cars and how we walk when we congregate in large groups (airports, sporting events, concerts, etc.). I'm sure the folks at Disney were aware of this trait since the 1950s.
