The wife and I will be up there March 10th and 11th. With our schedules that’s all we could squeeze in. Just wanted some ideas for lunch/dinner. We are hoping for warmish weather so we can see some sights. Any recommendations would be great.

We stayed out of the way in rural Smithville. There's more dead deer on side of the road than houses.

-Hochatown Saloon has a great ribeye
-Really good scenery along Hwy 1. Google maps will list all of the scenic view stops.
-Rugaru Adventures zip lining was really fun. The last one has a great view of the lake.

Was just there last weekend. Ate at a brewery in hochatown. It was okay. Didn’t have any of the beers.

Also Broken Bow has the worst Walmart of all time.

Who is your cell provider? If it's Verizon, you'll have a rough time with a signal around Beaver's Bend/Broken Bow Lake. Just an FYI.

The pizza place there is good, They use whole green olives on their pizza. If you like them, I suggest. Something dog father? god father? Its basically the only one around.

De Queen's dry so if your going you better buy a bottle in downtown Broken Bow. Also, try to avoid playing dominoes with the locals.

What is the draw of Broken Bow?

It doesn't like there is anything there and all the threads' responses in past are negative.

I'm genuinely curious.

the lake is fun and there is decent hiking/scenary for being a easy drive from Louisiana

I think people go thinking there will be more to do, but if you are not going for hiking/fishing/boating reasons, you are going to get bored pretty quick

This is about all I got out of the trip last summer. Unfortunately I didn't get to do any fishing, which I know friends who really enjoyed that on a previous trip. The hike down to the river was pretty neat. We also rented a party barge on the lake which was fun.
