Im sure this has been discussed multiple times but looking for a nice hotel on island possibly with restaurants and bars on site and access to a golf cart to drive the island. TIA

that place looks very similar to the one i stayed at in may. on vrbo its called vista de la luz. great house. slept 12 with a ton of privacy for every room. great staff that cooked breakfast every morning, and made fresh guac and salsa every evening, and if you left your clothes out by the laundry room, cleaned and folded.
the guy that "manages" it comes in every morning to make sure the carts are filled with gas, and if anyone wants to go anywhere on the island\excursion.

All of the hotels are fairly small, are you wanting something with only a few rooms or are you wanting something that’s all inclusive?
We like Casa Del jaguar for the vibe and it’s right in the middle of it all. Na Balam and Lotus are all right there and offer the same.
Hotel secreto is a favorite spot of your TD brethren, thanks to VAbuckeye for bringing that place to our attention.
I would not over think the hotel, hopefully you are spending VERY little time in your room

Check out Mia Reef. Cool place as it sits on its own island connected by small bridge.

I would stay at Privilege Aluxes next time we go back. Rented a house mid-island last time that was nice, but we were always driving the golf cart back up to North Beach.
Zama is the best beach club.
Mango Cafe has the best breakfast.

Did you enjoy it more than north garden?

Yes. North Garden was really good, but Mango had three things we tried that were on another level. Coconut French toast, fried stuffed (breakfast) poblano pepper, and fish tacos.

Just manage your expectations for a nice hotel on the island. I like to think 3star is the highest they go.
We always have a hotel in Cancun for the overall duration and just walk into Na Balam and negotiate a great rate for 1 night. 2 days there is plenty.

Ixchel
Right on Playa Norte with a bar and restaurant.
The only thing I will say about the restaurants on Playa Norte is that they are higher priced and the service can be spotty. I'd take a break and walk 5 minutes to Hidalgo Street where the prices and service improve. I cannot speak to the bar or restaurant at Ixchel as I have never stayed there.
We always stay at Hotel Secreto. It has a bar and if we wanted lunch we'd tell the bartender what we felt like eating and would go out and get it and serve it poolside or beachside.
The downside to Secreto is that you cannot go in the water there. It's too rough. However, Playa Norte is a short walk (3 minutes) around the point from Playa Norte. Secreto has a small beach but it is only for guests.

Looks very nice but mid-island so a golf cart or taxi ride is required to get to the more active parts of the island (Playa Norte). However, that may be what the OP wants.
